Mrs Ruth Scott, Head of Sixth Form

Mrs Scott is Head of the Sixth Form and is responsible for our More Able Programme. In her career she has had a range of leadership experiences, including Music Departments, Performing Arts Faculties, and More Able Strategies. Having worked with Sixth Form students for many years, she is now leading the St. Francis’ Sixth Form into a new and exciting phase. She is a mum to two young sons, and she and her husband enjoy taking the family away for adventures in ‘Tom’, the family camper van.

Welcome to the Sixth Form

Your two years in Sixth Form mark the pinnacle of your school career, and you deserve an experience to remember.

On the academic side you will be studying only those subjects that you have personally chosen, and you will have much more autonomy and independence in managing your time out of lessons. At the same time, there are a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities for you to choose from, whether it’s testing your business acumen, embarking on an overseas trip, trekking through the wilderness for your Gold DofE, helping our friends in Kanyike, Uganda, or representing the interests of a nation at the Model United Nations conference. There’s so much here to enjoy, as well as ample opportunities to develop those all-important skills of teamwork, leadership and self-organisation.

Your academic progress will, of course, be your priority. It is clear from our examination results that St. Francis’ College is the right environment to help you achieve the very highest grades. Click here go to our Results and Destinations page

Whatever destination you have in mind, whether it’s a top UK university, an institution overseas or an exciting degree apprenticeship, the Sixth Form at St. Francis’ will set you on the right path.
