St. Francis’ College is in Letchworth Garden City, a community-focused town located in the beautiful North Hertfordshire Countryside. Its residents are very proud of the town’s famous heritage of being the world’s first garden city, created in 1903. Planned to combine the best of ‘town and country living’, Letchworth Garden City offers a unique heritage alongside some interesting places to explore.

The elegant public gardens, beautifully landscaped parks and leafy avenues are all found within easy walking distance of the College and the town centre. They are a key element in the calm and inspiring atmosphere of this unique town.

The College campus is located on the edge of the town centre, allowing our students, staff and parents easy access to all this thriving town has to offer. It is home to a wide range of stores from books and stationery to clothes and beauty products. It all also offers a rich cultural life with art galleries, exhibitions, and the famous Broadway Cinema, which shows a wide variety of films from modern day blockbusters to live streaming from London theatres.

There is a good choice of cafes and restaurants for relaxation and the town boasts a wide range of modern sporting facilities which are open to students from the school. Many students are members of sporting clubs allowing them to benefit from further specialist training and to socialise with a wider range of like-minded young adults.

Letchworth Garden City boasts great transport links; it is 30 minutes by train to London Kings Cross and 20 minutes to Cambridge. The boarding community take full advantage of this location and can easily visit a wide range of nearby interesting locations – historic houses, wildlife parks and the world-famous Harry Potter Studios to name a few.
