Our Year 13 leavers have been celebrating their success in their A Levels results this morning. Last year the College achieved its best ever results, and that fantastic achievement has been repeated this year with a 96% pass rate across grades A* – C, the all-important grades required for university entry. 78% of the grades were at A* – B and the overall pass rate across all grades was 100%.
100% of the students have achieved the grades required to take up their place at a university of their choice, including Isabella, who joined the College in Year 12, moving on to study Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, and Heather, who has been offered a place at the University Of Birmingham to study Politics & Philosophy. Other students are going on to study a range of degree courses, including Law, Economics, English and Management.
The College’s Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Ruth Scott said: ‘I am thrilled that the students have woken up this morning to all discover that they have successfully secured their university places and can get excited about the next phase of their educational journey. They should be very proud of their results as they are a testament to the hard work and dedication they have given their learning. We all wish them the very best as they head off in exciting new directions.’
The Head of the College, Mr Nichols said: ‘I’m so delighted for our students celebrating their individual successes, particularly in light of the fact this is the year group that nationally has been impacted by the effects of the last three years on their education, and that has never before sat a public examination. The results they’ve achieved demonstrate not only impressive resilience but also just how hard they have worked. I would like to thank all our staff who have supported them in their studies, and we look forward to seeing another set of impressive outcomes in the GCSE results next week.’
