Application Process

  • All children interested in joining the College are offered the opportunity to spend a taster day with us. This can be arranged before or after they have completed the Registration Form. During the taster day, your child will be introduced to their ‘buddy’ and will spend the day with a form group, fully participating in the timetable.
  • Once you’ve decided you would like to apply for a place at the College, the first stage in the process is to complete the Registration Form here and pay a non-refundable Application Fee of £100.
  • Prospective pupils must pass the College Entrance Examinations relevant to their age and receive a satisfactory report from their current school. Entrance exams are held in the January prior to the student joining. Examinations are held in Maths, English, and Non-verbal Reasoning. All applicants will have a short informal interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team or a Senior Teacher. To download practice tests for entry into Years 7 and 9 please click here*.
  • Offer letters will be sent to successful applications by the February half term, together with the paperwork required when the offer is accepted.
  • Entry to the Senior School for St. Francis’ Prep pupils is automatic depending on circumstances. Children who join our Prep Department by the start of Year 5 will not be required to sit an entrance test for the Senior School.
  • Deferred entry will be offered to successful candidates in Year 6 who wish to remain at their current school until joining the College in Year 9. The offer will be dependent on the pupil making good progress in Years 7 and 8 and the College receiving a satisfactory report from their Head prior to joining.
